We are a Day Centre for the elderly of South Croydon and the surrounding area, providing them with a balanced hot meal at a very reasonable cost and a range of stimulating activities in a warm and convivial atmosphere.
The Centre is open on Mondays and Thursdays of each week from 10am to 4pm. In a typical week it hosts around 30 older people aged 70 plus, many with a range of disabilities, and the total number on our books is about 40. The Centre is run under the direction of its Management Committee by a Co-ordinator, who is assisted by an Assistant Co-ordinator and on a rota basis by some 40 volunteers.
Occasional outings into the countryside or to London or to the coast are arranged. Transport by minibus with tail-lifting facilities is made available to enable the less active to visit the Centre, which has easy disabled access. Fund-raising activities are held, such as sales of donated goods and raffles.
Our catchment area is bounded by a circle of 1½ mile radius from our premises.
