SOUTH CROYDON DAY CENTRE

FOR THE RETIRED

We are always seeking volunteer help, on a rota basis, with such things as:

(1) Driving minibuses to collect our elderly visitors from their homes and drop them off at the Centre on Mondays and Thursdays, and to take them on day trips to sites of interest in London and the Home Counties,

(2) Escorting our visitors while travelling on the minibuses to and from their homes and the Centre and on such day trips, and

(3) Helping in the Centre itself with serving hot meals, beverages and snacks and with our visitors’ activities.

Interested? Simply complete the form below and we will be in touch.

To become a driver for the South Croydon Day Centre you will need to acquire the 'Minibus Drivers Awareness Scheme' (MiDAS) certificate which involves undertaking a day's training about the scheme and about managing clients in wheelchairs or who use walking frames. More information about driving a minibus can be found on the Directgov website
