Retiring From the SCDC - A Poem By Ros Green

What do you do when you are retied

When over the hill or your job expired

You make for South Croydon from 10 until 4

You’re sure of a welcome when you come through the door

A hot cup of coffee or maybe some tea

Just have a chat, knit, drowse or perhaps do all three

Outings arranged and speakers galore

You’re sure to find something when you come through the door

You can buy a cheap lunch, they’re really quite nice,

With perhaps a dessert, say sponge pudding or rice.

You may be fit as a fiddle or feel a bit poor

But you’ll soon be cheered up when you come through the door.
